The best of Saturday’s racing action from New Zealand comes from Ellerslie, where several competitive looking handicaps have shaped an exciting looking card.

Whilst Penman looks strong at the top of the market, the likely danger looks like being Bourbon Proof. Having been a runner up in a Grade 2 recently, he easily boasts the best form in the race but needs to respond from a 13th place finish when last seen.

VALUE BET - Erin Go Bragh
If looking to find some value it could be worth siding with Erin Go Bragh. A winner of two of his first three career starts, this race represents a huge jump up in class but with a win last time out he could be a danger to the top two in the market if able to handle the step up in class.

You Say D’orsay is likely to be near the top of the market in the Elsdon Park Handicap and its easy to see why. Likely to act on the projected soft ground, he was a winner last time out and he should give his running once again. There’s plenty to like.

THE DANGER - Grande Gallo
Grande Gallo rates as a huge danger and is a former winner at the track. Also coming off a win when last seen, the wet should suit and she should once again play a major part in proceedings.

VALUE BET - Cannon Hill
At a big price it looks like Cannon Hill could be worth a small play. A winner when last seen at the track, he takes a small drop in trip this time around and the hopes are that he can follow up that effort here.

Yet to win a race in eight starts, he has the most experience in the field and following a runner up effort last time out, this looks like the perfect opportunity to finally get off the mark.

THE DANGER - Billy Blinx
Billy Blinx comes next when it comes to experience in this field and, is hoping to get off the mark at the fifth time of asking. He also brings in placed form and looks the only one capable of causing Wind Rush a problem.

VALUE BET - Neffu
This will be Neffu’s third career start and whilst he has plenty to prove with the top two in the market, he did finish third when last seen and is clearly still learning on the job. If you fancy a horse to take on the top two in the market, he looks a safe bet.
